Another major national standard has been released, covering radio disturbance in electrical lighting

Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation (Standardization Administration) approved and released 530 recommended national standards and 2 amendments to national standards. Among them, 5 lighting-related standards involve 'energy efficiency evaluation of lighting systems', 'digital addressable lighting interface', and 'limits and methods of measurement for radio disturbance characteristics of electrical lighting and similar equipment'. The aforementioned standards will officially take effect on July 1, 2022; relevant enterprises are requested to take note.

Among them, GB/T 17743-2021 adopts IEC international standard CISPR 15:2018 identically and serves as a key basis for testing electrical lighting and similar equipment regarding emission disturbances.

This standard applies to the radio frequency emissions (radiated and conducted) of the following equipment:

—— Lighting equipment (3.3.16);

——One of the main functions is the lighting component in multi-functional lighting equipment;

Note 1: The example includes lighting equipment with Li-Fi and entertainment lighting.

——UV and IR radiation equipment for residential and non-industrial applications;

--Announcement Signage;

Note 2: The instance features a neon-style advertising sign.

——Decorative lighting;

— Emergency sign.

Electrical lighting and similar equipment cover a very wide range in daily life and develop very rapidly, affecting the daily lives of countless households, nightscape lighting of cities, stage lighting for entertainment, etc. The release of this standard marks that China's standardization work in this field has further aligned with international standards, reducing trade barriers caused by technical differences, and will help enhance the competitiveness of related Chinese products in the international market.
