Resort Lighting Renovation Project

The Maldives has long been known as the "Pearl of the Indian Ocean," and the Raffles Maldives Meradhoo Resort located here allows travelers to deeply feel its charm. If travelers can constantly experience the moving interplay of light and shadow, it will surely become one of the resort's most captivating features. Therefore, to enhance the resort's appeal, Luxe took over the resort's renovation project in 2019 and began delivering architectural lighting and decorative lamps for various industries, ensuring that the scenery is not limited to dusk, so travelers can enjoy the resort's "light beauty" at any time.

In this project, Lux collaborated with Singapore's top lighting design firm Klassen Lighting Design (KLD) and the renowned interior design team Blink Design to jointly create lighting products that blend beauty and island vibes for the resort. While meeting strict certification requirements, we also achieved a balance between carbon footprint, lighting comfort, and budget.

Fear no difficulties; face them head-on

With years of experience in the lighting industry, Lux has been brave enough to overcome various challenges. In this renovation project, a construction period of only six months was one of the major difficulties faced by the team. The discussions involved numerous back-and-forth communications with European lighting suppliers to carefully select materials and produce high-quality alternatives, successfully creating the finest light products within a short time. Finally, through the team's fearless spirit, not only was the renovation completed on schedule, but different lighting products were also seamlessly integrated into the stunning resort.

Perfectly create a breathtaking resort destination

The Lux team has invested significant effort in material selection. Since the Raffles Maldives Meradhoo Resort is located on Raffles Meradhoo Island, which has long been surrounded by seawater, villas and residences are inevitably subject to seawater corrosion. Therefore, selected materials and accessories all use special casing processing, such as Stainless Steel 316 (SS316). Stainless Steel 316 (SS316) is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel containing an appropriate amount of molybdenum, giving Architectural lighting and decorative Luminaire extremely high corrosion resistance, while also improving the Luminaire material's resistance to pitting from chloride solutions, perfectly avoiding issues with seawater corrosion.

The design prominently highlights how the gray-blue tones perfectly echo the Indian Ocean, creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere, while once again proving the team's success.
