The latest test results prove that the company's UV LED modules can kill 99% of airborne viruses.

Seoul Viosys (KOSDAQ: 092190), a leading provider of compound semiconductor solutions, recently announced that test results from the Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL) prove that air conditioning and heating systems equipped with its UV LED Violeds modules can eliminate 99% of airborne viruses. The tests demonstrate that Violeds is a breakthrough technology helping to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic caused by aerosolized viruses.

Test results show that air conditioning and heating systems equipped with Violeds modules can eliminate 99% of airborne viruses in a 60 cubic meter room within 30 minutes. The virus used in the test was bacteriophage PhiX174, which has a UV-C dose requirement similar to SARS-CoV-2 (coronavirus).

The Violeds module is an optimized Solution that simultaneously disinfects various viruses and bacteria in the air, achieving air purification by disinfecting the air entering the air conditioner to remove airborne viruses. This modular device can be easily installed into existing air conditioning and heating systems.

Since August 2020, Seoul Viosys has been running a campaign for public and multi-purpose facilities, installing Violeds module devices in applicants' air conditioners and heaters to help reduce airborne and surface pathogens in indoor spaces.
