MLS Co., Ltd. signs a procurement contract worth 160 million, horticultural lighting products are put into application!

On September 26, MLS issued an announcement stating that, in accordance with the company's horticultural lighting strategic planning and business plan, and adhering to the principles of "complementary advantages, resource sharing, mutual benefit and win-win results, and common development," its controlled subsidiary, Kuitun MLS Photobiology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "MLS Photobiology"), signed the "Smart Plant Growth Chamber Equipment Procurement Contract" with Tuoli County Tianxing Animal Husbandry Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Tianxing Animal Husbandry") on September 26.

Tianxing Animal Husbandry will purchase smart plant growth chambers from the Company's holding subsidiary MLS Co., Ltd. between October 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022, with a total contract amount of RMB 160 million. Specific order prices and sales volumes will be negotiated monthly.

According to the information, Tianxing Animal Husbandry mainly engages in poultry slaughtering, livestock slaughtering, food operations, fresh meat retail, livestock sales, poultry and livestock acquisition, and primary agricultural product acquisition.

It is reported that MLS Co., Ltd. has established a holding subsidiary in Kuitun City, Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang, and built a forage biological cabin, mainly dedicated to addressing issues such as local livestock overgrazing, winter fresh forage supply, and import substitution of alfalfa.

In recent years, driven by intensified international competition, the pandemic's role in heightening global awareness of food crises, land resource shortages, and the rise of plant factories, horticultural lighting has developed rapidly. As a market with significant growth potential, LED horticultural lighting has become one of the most closely watched markets for domestic LED companies.

MLS Co., Ltd. stated that horticultural lighting is one of the company's key new growth areas. The company's horticultural lighting products have begun mass production. The plant growth chambers produced by the company are an extension of LED horticultural lighting applications. By controlling illuminance, photoperiod, spectrum distribution, and light uniformity in fully enclosed or semi-enclosed conditions, and integrating temperature, humidity, and water circulation control systems, they optimize plant growth and development, creating a high-efficiency agricultural system for planned crop production. These plant growth chambers focus mainly on forage grass cultivation, aiming to address issues such as the overloading of domestic grass-livestock balance and dependence on imported forage.

Recently, MLS Co., Ltd. has actively improved its industry layout in the field of horticultural lighting. Previously, MLS Co., Ltd. had cooperated with the Center for Excellence in Molecular Plant Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Urban Agriculture of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences to strive to develop new horticultural lighting systems and a series of solutions for forage grass breeding and cultivation, rapidly expanding its "circle of friends" in the scientific research field of horticultural lighting.

MLS further stated that the signing of this agreement demonstrates that the company's R&D in horticultural lighting has been recognized by downstream end customers, and that end products can be promoted and applied. This aligns with the company's strategic planning, helps to open up new profit growth points, enhances core competitiveness, and promotes the company's long-term healthy development.
