The national standard "Technical Code for Lightning Protection of Urban Landscape Lighting Facilities" will be officially implemented starting September 1.
Recently, the 7th Chinese National Standard announcement of 2021 was released. The State Administration for Market Regulation (Standardization Administration of China) approved 386 recommended national standards and 3 amendments to national standards, including "Packaging containers - Steel drums - Part 6: Tapered opening steel drums". Among them is the recommended National standard (mandatory / recommended) "Technical Code for Lightning Protection of Urban Landscape lighting Facilities".
Starting from September 1, 2021, the National standard (mandatory / recommended) GB/T 40250-2021 "Technical Specification for Lightning Protection of Urban Landscape Lighting Facilities", approved by the State Administration for Market Regulation (Standardization Administration of China), officially came into effect.


This standard specifies the basic lightning protection requirements for urban landscape lighting facilities, including direct lightning strike protection, lightning electromagnetic pulse protection, inspection methods for lightning protection devices, and maintenance. It applies to the lightning protection design, construction, inspection, and maintenance of urban landscape lighting facilities. The "Technical Specification for Lightning Protection of Urban Landscape Lighting Facilities" is under the jurisdiction and implementation of TC345 (National Technical Committee on Standardization for Meteorological Disaster Prevention and Mitigation), with the China Meteorological Administration as the competent authority.
