"Guidelines for the Installation and Management of Multi-functional Light Poles in Xinbei District, Changzhou City" (Trial) Officially Issued

Recently, the "Guidelines for the Installation and Management of Multi-functional Light Poles in Xinbei District, Changzhou City" (Trial), jointly drafted by the Xinbei District Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau and the Municipal Lighting Office, was officially issued. These guidelines play an important role in further standardizing the installation and management of municipal facility poles on urban roads in Xinbei District, Changzhou City, effectively improving the urban road landscape, and enhancing the level of refined urban management.

The preparation of these guidelines took one year. Based on full reference to current national and industry standards and norms, and drawing on domestic and international practical experience, a draft for comment was formed after joint review by district housing and urban-rural development, landscaping, traffic police, lighting, and other departments. Following public solicitation of feedback from relevant parties and rigorous review and assessment of the comments received, the final version was revised and finalized.

The guidelines consist of seven chapters, covering: scope of application, general provisions, basic requirements, layout requirements, design requirements, construction procedures, and operation and maintenance management. They set clear requirements for the principles, technical guidance, and operational management of multi-functional light poles in Xinbei District, Changzhou City, and provide guidance for the construction and renovation of existing urban roads.

In recent years, Changzhou has been exploring the construction and application of multi-functional poles, achieving remarkable results. In 2018, the first multi-functional light pole was installed on Yueji Road and Dingxiang Road; in 2019, multi-functional light poles were extensively used along the Jinling Road section of Metro Line 1; in 2020, the city's first multi-functional light pole with a 5G module was built in Central Garden; this year, multi-functional garden lights were used for the first time in conjunction with the renovation of old residential communities.

The release of these guidelines will undoubtedly promote the standardization and institutionalization of the construction and management of multi-functional poles in Changzhou, supporting the application of new infrastructure development in the city.
