Shenzhen will build 5,000 new 5G base stations and 7,000 multifunctional smart poles this year

On May 15, the First Session of the Seventh Shenzhen Municipal People's Congress opened. Acting Mayor Qin Weizhong, on behalf of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, reported on government work to the conference, reviewed Shenzhen's development during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, clarified the main development goals and key tasks for the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, and arranged Shenzhen's work for 2021.

In 2021, Shenzhen will accelerate the construction of key projects such as major transportation infrastructure, new-type information infrastructure, and municipal infrastructure.

The 2021 Shenzhen Government Work Report mentioned that Shenzhen plans to build 5,000 new 5G base stations and 7,000 multifunctional smart poles this year, and accelerate the construction of 5G industry virtual private networks.

It is reported that Shenzhen has built 47,000 5G base stations, becoming the first city in China to achieve full-city coverage with 5G standalone networking.

This year, Shenzhen will also implement a large-scale school construction plan: start construction of 60 kindergartens and 90 primary and secondary schools, complete 9 high schools, and add 130,000 student places.

At the same time, in 2021, we will innovate our approach to promote the modernization of urban governance systems and capabilities, launch more than 100 smart application scenarios, etc.; and seize the opportunities of carbon peak and carbon neutrality, strengthen green and low-carbon technological innovation, build a green manufacturing system, and build a more beautiful Shenzhen at a higher level.

Construction of the Optoelectronics Project at Wanzhou Electric Energy Saving Technology Park Begins

Recently, construction officially began on Workshop 2 of the Yunchuan Optoelectronics project at Wanzhou Electric Energy Saving Technology Park. Upon completion, the project will play a demonstrative and leading role in Xiangyang City's industry for high-efficiency energy-saving lighting and infrared transmission and reception.

The total investment in this project is 60 million yuan, with completion scheduled for December this year. The project will construct a 12,000 square meter standard factory building for the production and testing of high-efficiency lighting products.

After project construction and operation, an annual production capacity of 2 million units of high-efficiency lighting products will be established, mainly including smart LED high-efficiency street lights, intelligent LED high-efficiency tunnel lights, high luminous efficacy LED fluorescent lamps, solar-powered energy-saving floodlights, and intelligent LED high-efficiency industrial lights.

A relevant person in charge at Wanzhou Electric introduced that the products produced in the new workshop can achieve the effect of "making full use of light" and realize the goal of high-efficiency energy saving through improved power conversion efficiency, modular design of light sources, and reasonable light distribution design, saving about 15-20% more energy than traditional LED lamps.

It is understood that Wanzhou Electric is a technology-oriented joint-stock enterprise integrating scientific research and development, production and sales, and technical services. As a specialized energy-saving enterprise providing "high-tech energy saving products and services", Wanzhou Electric started with motor soft starters and has developed into a leading enterprise in China's soft starter industry, a pioneer in China's system energy saving field, and one of the top three in China's infrared receiving optoelectronic components industry. It is vigorously developing system energy saving products and striving to shape a new image as "China's System Energy Saving Expert, World Energy Efficiency Management Pioneer".
