Shao Jiaping joins LiDAR company RoboSense as Vice President of Global Marketing

Recently, Dr. Shao Jiaping posted on WeChat Moments: "Let us embrace change, opportunities, and challenges. I kindly ask my many friends for their continued support and guidance." He officially announced his joining of InnoLaser Technology as VP Global Marketing, and will focus on advancing the mass production of automotive-grade solid-state MEMS LiDAR.

Profile: Dr. Shao Jiaping graduated from Tsinghua University with a Bachelor’s and Ph.D. in Physical Electronics and Optoelectronic Engineering. He has extensive research and experience in III-V nitride material epitaxy, semiconductor process development (high-power high-luminance LEDs, high electron mobility transistors, laser diodes, semiconductor detectors, etc.), DC & RF sputtering, electron beam & thermal deposition, photolithography technology, material and device characterization testing, as well as LED packaging and applications. Additionally, Dr. Shao completed his postdoctoral research at Fudan University in 2014.

Dr. Shao joined Cree in 2007, serving as General Manager of Sales and Technical Director for Cree China. He was responsible for sales, marketing, and technology across the entire Cree China region. In recognition of his significant contributions to the company's development, he was awarded the "Cree Outstanding Employee Contribution Award (President's Award)" by Cree's global CEO. Prior to joining Cree, Dr. Shao worked at Shanghai SVA (Group) Co., Ltd., where he was responsible for developing LED backlights for TFT-LCD TVs. Dr. Shao joined OSRAM Opto Semiconductors in September 2016, successively overseeing the SSL general lighting business in Greater China and Global GL Sales worldwide. He officially left OSRAM on January 31, 2021. In March 2021, Dr. Shao officially joined Jingwei Technology as VP of Global Marketing, where he will focus on advancing the mass production of solid-state MEMS LiDAR.

Dr. Shao has been dedicated to promoting the development of the LED industry. He has 22 years of experience in the LED industry (since 1999), including over 6 years in LED epitaxy and chips (since 2000) and 15 years in LED packaging and applications (since 2006). Dr. Shao serves as a technical advisor to major industry organizations, including the International Solid State Lighting Alliance (ISA), China Solid State Lighting Alliance (CSA), China Association of Lighting Industry (CALI), China Illuminating Engineering Society (CIES), and Shanghai Optoelectronics Trade Association (SOTA). He currently holds positions as Director of the Optoelectronic Devices Professional Committee of CALI, Vice President of the Shanghai Lighting Industry Association, Vice President of the Fudan Lighting Alumni Council, Member of the Technical Committee of the IFAL International Automotive Lighting Forum, Director of CALI, and Director of CIES. Dr. Shao has been invited to deliver keynote speeches at more than 130 domestic and international industry forums, has had over 30 articles indexed by SCI and EI, and was a core member of several major "863" special projects during the 10th and 11th Five-Year Plan periods.
