01 Signify announces second price increase
On March 23, Signify issued a price increase notice stating that due to increasing pressure across the entire supply chain (including raw materials, commodities, and logistics), Signify will implement price increases for its professional lighting product portfolio in the US market, effective June 1, 2021. Details are as follows:
LED lights will increase by 3%;
Traditional fluorescent lamps will increase by 5%;
Luminaires will grow by an average of 6%, with actual growth rates varying by product category;
LED electronic products will grow by an average of 9%, with actual growth rates varying by product category;
Luminaire electronic products will grow by an average of 8%, with actual growth rates varying by product category.
It is reported that this is the second time Signify has raised prices for professional lighting products in the US market. In addition, at the end of February, Signify also adjusted prices for its traditional lighting and empty housing luminaire product lines in the Chinese market, with increases ranging from 5% to 17%.
02 OPPLE and other enterprises listed on Hurun China's Top 100 Private Enterprises in Consumer Sector
On March 23, the Hurun Research Institute partnered with Shuyun, a leading domestic provider of omnichannel consumer growth solutions, to jointly release the "2021 Shuyun · Hurun China Top 100 Private Enterprises in Consumer Goods," ranked by market capitalization or valuation. The threshold for inclusion in the "2021 Shuyun · Hurun China Top 100 Private Enterprises in Consumer Goods" was RMB 14 billion, with the total value of listed companies reaching RMB 9.86 trillion.
All listed companies derive more than 50% of their business from selling physical products directly to consumers, excluding companies that sell software or services, such as Tencent, Alibaba, and Meituan. "Chinese private enterprises" here refer to non-state-owned enterprises headquartered in mainland China. The market capitalization of listed companies is calculated based on the closing price on March 9, 2021, while the valuation of non-listed companies is estimated by referencing listed companies in the same industry or based on the latest round of financing. This is the first time the Hurun Research Institute has released this list.
Huawei has become the most valuable private enterprise in China's consumer sector with a value of 1.1 trillion, Midea ranks second with a value of 580 billion yuan, and Haitian ranks third with a value of 500 billion yuan.
Rupert Hoogewerf, Chairman and Chief Researcher of Hurun Report, stated: "China's consumer goods enterprises are increasingly scaling up. On this list, more than 70% are ranked among the Hurun China 500, and over 10% are among the Hurun Global 500." In the lighting and related industries, Bull ranks 23rd with a value of 105 billion yuan, while OPPLE ranks 76th with a value of 22 billion yuan.


03 High-power deep UV LED cold chain disinfection included in Fujian's 2021 Science and Technology Plan Project

Each project received financial support of 1 million yuan.
