"Safeguarding Safety, Facilitating Consumption" 2021 Shanghai Luminaire City 3.15 International Consumer Rights Day Theme Event Held

To strengthen consumer rights protection, further improve the consumption environment, facilitate smooth consumption, and serve economic and social development, we continue to deepen the construction of the "Confident Consumption, Quality-Driven Business" system. On the morning of March 15, the 3.15 International Consumer Rights Day event, themed "Safeguarding Safety, Facilitating Consumption," was held at the Shanghai Luminaire City.

This event was jointly guided by the Hongkou District Market Supervision Administration of Shanghai, the Hongkou District Consumer Rights Protection Committee of Shanghai, and the Guangzhong Market Supervision Office of the Hongkou District Market Supervision Administration. It was hosted by Shanghai Luminaire City and co-organized by the Entrepreneurship Guidance Center of Guangzhong Road Subdistrict and the Shanghai Huaxun Technology Entrepreneurship Center (Huachuang Club). The event also received strong support from the Shanghai Lighting Appliance Industry Association, the Hongkou District Quality Management Association of Shanghai, and Shanghai Shidai Zhiguang Lighting Appliance Testing Co., Ltd., as well as support from media friends including Phoenix Home, China Light Network, Guzhen Decorative Lighting News, and China Decorative Lighting News.

At 10:00 AM, Mr. Han Zonghuai, Chairman of Shanghai Luminaire City, took the stage to deliver a speech, kicking off the event.

Han Zonghuai stated: "Since the grand reopening in 2013, Shanghai Luminaire City has closely focused on ten major functional services and eight unified management standards. We adhere to innovation-driven development and honest business practices, strengthening the implementation of consumer rights protection, quality control, intellectual property protection, and other areas, while conducting comprehensive indicator assessments. We strive to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of consumers and create a reassuring and safe consumption environment. Meanwhile, with the care from all sectors of society, guidance and support from various government departments, and the active cooperation and efforts of our merchants, our consumer rights protection work has achieved phased results: we have received numerous important honors such as the National Integrity Demonstration Market, National Intellectual Property Protection Demonstration Market, Shanghai Famous Brand Demonstration Zone, and Shanghai Five-Star Consumer Rights Protection Liaison Point. These achievements are inseparable from the support of all parties."

In the future, Shanghai Luminaire City will continue to deepen the construction of the "Worry-Free Consumption, Quality-Driven Business" system. At the same time, taking "Safeguarding Safety, Facilitating Consumption" as its responsibility, it will gather forces from society, government, and merchants, placing consumer protection in a more prominent position, continuously improving the effectiveness of consumer rights protection, and strengthening consumer education and guidance. It will promote the standardized and orderly development of this business sector on the rule of law track, encourage producers and operators to continuously improve product and service quality, and effectively ensure a safe, worry-free, and comfortable consumption environment for consumers.

2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan. The Market Supervision Administration of Hongkou District, Shanghai, earnestly implemented the requirements of "improving the consumption environment and strengthening the protection of consumer rights" proposed at the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and collaborated with Shanghai Luminaire City to carry out the theme activity "Safeguarding Safety, Facilitating Consumption" for International Consumer Rights Day.

As a key incubation project in Hongkou District and one of the first batch of five-star consumer rights protection liaison units, Shanghai Luminaire City closely adheres to the philosophy of "Integrity in Business, Quality Consumption," takes "Safeguarding Safety, Facilitating Consumption" as its responsibility, and actively engages in consumer rights protection work in Hongkou District. Shanghai Luminaire City is also among the first malls in Hongkou District to participate in the joint construction of "Satisfied Consumption in the Yangtze River Delta." All offline retail stores in the mall have participated to varying degrees in the "Satisfied Consumption in the Yangtze River Delta" initiative, committing to "Worry-Free Consumption."

This event also invited Professor Dai Qi, a researcher at the Academy of Engineering and Applied Technology of Fudan University, to interpret the relevant indicators for evaluating lighting quality in primary and secondary school classrooms.
