Seoul Semiconductor wins permanent injunction again and obtains order requiring Philips(照明业务:Signify 昕诺飞) brand lighting affiliate to recall LED lighting products
Seoul Semiconductor, an international LED specialist company, recently announced that the Regional Court of Düsseldorf in Germany has issued two permanent injunctions against certain mobile phone and lighting products from Philips(照明业务:Signify 昕诺飞)'s lighting subsidiary.
The court issued a permanent injunction against infringing lighting products produced by Klite Lighting, a subsidiary of Signify (formerly Philips(照明业务:Signify 昕诺飞)), and also ordered the recall and destruction of products sold after March 2017 in the patent litigation against Leuchtstark Vertriebs GmbH. Recently, Seoul Semiconductor also obtained a permanent injunction against Klite products in other lawsuits, requiring Klite to recall and destroy infringing products sold after October 2017. Prior to this, Seoul Semiconductor had obtained permanent sales bans on infringing Philips brand LED TV products in two other cases in the United States.

In another patent lawsuit filed against Conrad Electronic, one of Europe's largest electronics retailers, the court ordered a permanent injunction and the recall of infringing mobile phone products sold after October 2017, as these products infringed on Seoul Semiconductor's patents.
LED Industry technology has entered its second generation. Over the past 20 years, Seoul Semiconductor has invested over $1 billion in R&D and is leading the development of second-generation technology. In the past three years, Seoul Semiconductor has won nearly 30 Patent lawsuits in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, China, and South Korea. The table above lists the Patent technologies upheld by Seoul Semiconductor in litigation where enforcement of judgments was sought.
An executive at Seoul Semiconductor explained: "Regardless of social class or country of origin, intellectual property protects the discoveries and inventions of small businesses and entrepreneurs, rewarding them for their efforts. Since the Industrial Revolution, infant mortality has dropped from 43% to 3%, absolute poverty has fallen from 80% to below 10%, literacy rates have significantly improved, and 85% of the world's population now has access to electricity.
