DLC Horticultural Lighting Version 2.1 Draft 1 Released

Source: 中国之光网 Views: 2013

On October 13, 2020 (U.S. time), DLC released the first draft of Technical Requirements for LED-based Horticultural Lighting V2.1. The estimated effective date for the V2.1 standard is July 1, 2021.

As a minor update to the technical requirements, the V2.1 standard will not raise the PPE limits. Based on feedback from DLC members and stakeholders, V2.1 plans to add three new product categories:

☆Externally-Supplied Actively Cooled Horticultural Fixtures (external circulating coolant, active cooling) In V2.0 and earlier versions, DLC only accepted Horticultural Fixtures with integrated heat dissipation devices. Starting from the V2.1 standard, DLC will accept Horticultural Fixtures that use externally supplied circulating coolant for active cooling. The coolant (typically water or a water/ethylene glycol mixture) circulates through the input/output ports of each luminaire in the system, removing heat from the heatsinks/heat exchangers within the luminaires.

DC-Powered Luminaires

DLC is expected to accept the following two categories of DC-powered luminaires:

★ Modular Fixtures: Modular luminaires, powered by a single AC-DC driver for multiple luminaires;

★ Luminaire that operates on DC power: A luminaire powered by a DC power supply, which may be sold separately or together with one or more AC-DC drivers.

LED Replacement Lamps

DLC is expected to accept the following two categories of LED replacement light sources:

LED replacements for linear fluorescent lamps: For LED replacement light sources for linear fluorescent lamps, all product types covered by the SSL V5.1 standard are eligible to apply for Horticultural Lighting V2.1. Products must meet the following requirements:

1. Meets all SSL V5.1 standard requirements (luminous flux and luminous efficacy requirements are not required)

2. Meets the requirements of the Horticultural Lighting V2.1 standard

Screw-Base LED Replacements for HID Lamps

★ DLC only accepts light sources with E39, E40 lamp caps and Type B; other lamp caps and other UL types are not accepted.

★ Schedule for products with field-adjustable light distribution not accepted under V2.1 standard:
