UV lamps and two other categories of lighting products will not be subject to additional retaliatory tariffs under the US Section 301 measures for one year.

On May 12, the Tariff Commission of the State Council issued the "Announcement on the Second Exclusion List for Additional Tariffs on Goods Imported from the United States".



In accordance with the "Announcement of the Tariff Commission of the State Council on Trial Implementation of Exclusion Work for Goods Subject to Additional Tariffs on Imports from the United States" (Tariff Commission Announcement [2019] No. 2), the Tariff Commission of the State Council has organized the review of valid applications submitted by applicants, made decisions according to procedures, and excluded certain goods from the second batch of goods subject to additional tariffs on imports from the United States. The relevant matters are announced as follows:



For the goods listed in the attached list, no additional tariffs imposed to retaliate against US Section 301 measures will be levied from May 19, 2020 to May 18, 2021 (one year). Any tariffs already collected shall be refunded. Relevant import enterprises shall apply to customs in accordance with regulations within six months from the date the exclusion list is published.



This includes three categories of lighting products: 85392120 tungsten halogen lamps for trains, aircraft, and ships; 85392190 other tungsten halogen lamps; and 85394900 ultraviolet tubes or infrared light bulbs.
