LEDVANCE closes Eastern Distribution Center
On March 23, Lumileds (LEDVANCE) issued a letter announcing the closure of its Eastern Distribution Center.
The letter content is as follows:
Dear Customer,
To better serve our customers, LEDVANCE has continuously sought to maximize its business processes. As part of this effort, we have recently reviewed our supply chain to achieve synergies and better serve our customers. Collaborating with industry-leading experts and distribution networks aligns with the best interests of our customers and our ability to maintain or improve service levels.
As part of the consolidation decision, we will move our Eastern Distribution Center (EDC) located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA to the Versailles factory in Kentucky. Since these two warehouses are close to each other, our analysis shows that by consolidating all materials in one location, we can provide better service to our customers.
The Bethlehem factory will cease operations on July 1, 2020. At that time, our Midwest Distribution Center in Versailles, Kentucky, and our Western Distribution Center in Ontario, California, will serve as the primary operating locations.
Meeting customer needs is our top priority. Customer orders previously fulfilled in Bethlehem will now be processed in Kentucky. For customers who placed orders directly in Bethlehem, our team will contact you regarding the transition plan.
If you have any questions, please contact your LEDVANCE representative. Thank you for your cooperation.
Matt McCarron
Vice President of Sales, USA and Canada
