US company plans to use luminescent plants for lighting to address power shortages

Recently, emerging US company Bioglow has introduced luminescent plants indoors and named them Starlight Avatar. Based on current results, the plants can only emit faint light, somewhat similar to the intensity of starlight, hence the name Starlight Avatar.
In the near future, researchers hope that luminescent plants can illuminate entire streets. Currently, the project is still under continuous development. Since mutations in luciferase are the main condition for light formation, the staff hope to change the color of the light through enzyme mutation. When that time comes, leaves and petals can emit different colors, presenting a pot of colorful flowers.
This research achievement is also expected to address the lack of lighting facilities caused by insufficient electricity in some regions.
