Toshiba LED Lighting Illuminates the Cultural Heritage of Hangzhou West Lake
In June this year, the "LED Outdoor Spotlight" specially developed by Toshiba for the energy-saving renovation project of West Lake's night scene lighting in Hangzhou was officially put into use. In this lighting renovation, Toshiba LED outdoor spotlights (1W) replaced the original PAR20 spotlights (50W) for the night scene lighting of the rooftops of ancient buildings within the scenic area. The project covers two scenic areas of West Lake, "Gushan" (Solitary Hill) and "Beishan Street", involving all the ancient buildings in the scenic area, including Pinghu Qiuyue (Autumn Moon on the Calm Lake), Fanghe Pavilion, Qingxue Lu, Yu Lou, and the Yu Bei Ting (Imperial Stele Pavilion) at Duanqiao Canxue (Remnant Snow on the Broken Bridge).
LED lighting features energy efficiency, long lifespan, mercury-free, low UV, and stable performance. The Toshiba LED luminaires used in West Lake's night scene lighting have significantly reduced energy consumption compared with before the renovation. For example, based on 5 hours of daily lighting, the annual electricity consumption can be reduced by 400,000 kWh, and the product has a lifespan of up to 40,000 hours, equivalent to over 20 years of continuous use without light source replacement. This not only achieves the purpose of reducing the environmental load but also maximally saves subsequent maintenance costs. In addition, its low UV feature also ensures that buildings will not fade or be damaged by lighting, providing the West Lake cultural heritage with safe, secure, and long-lasting "environmentally harmonious lighting". At the same time, Toshiba LED lighting's professional light distribution design and excellent optical performance make the ancient buildings at night radiate elegant charm once again, complementing the beautiful natural scenery, presenting a picturesque West Lake night scene.
