Recently, Acuity Inc. (formerly Acuity Brands) released its financial results for the fourth quarter and full fiscal year 2026. According to the report, the company posted net sales of $1.244 billion in the fourth quarter, up 2.92% year-on-year (YoY); quarterly net profit reached $173 million, a 51.75% increase compared to the same period last year, while operating profit stood at $227 million, up 25.7% YoY. Profitability improved significantly, cash flow remained robust, and overall operational quality continued to strengthen.

Looking at the full year, the company’s total net sales amounted to $4.6418 billion (approximately RMB 31.0044 billion), a 6.8% increase year-on-year; full-year operating profit was $713.7 million, up 26.6% YoY; net profit for the year totaled $531.3 million; and cash flow from operating activities reached $826 million.

The strong performance this quarter and throughout the year was driven by enhanced group-wide operational efficiency and an optimized product mix, with the two major business segments demonstrating differentiated growth trajectories.

Acuity currently operates across two primary segments: Acuity Brands Lighting (ABL) and Acuity Intelligent Spaces (AIS). The company is steadily advancing its strategic transformation—from a lighting manufacturer to a provider of intelligent space technology services.

Specifically, Acuity Brands Lighting (ABL) reported full-year net sales of $3.5764 billion for fiscal year 2026, down 1.0% from the previous year; full-year operating profit reached $623.5 million, up 5.6% YoY.

ABL serves commercial, public-sector, industrial, and residential markets, offering sustainable, high-quality, smart lighting products, lighting control systems, and complementary components. This segment remains the Group’s core profit driver, with ABL maintaining strong profitability in its key North American market.

Acuity Intelligent Spaces (AIS) recorded full-year net sales of $1.1066 billion for fiscal year 2026, a 44.8% increase year-on-year; full-year operating profit reached $186.5 million, up 145.1% YoY.

AIS represents the Group’s second growth engine, focusing on cloud–edge–connected building intelligence technologies. It provides smart building management solutions, audio–video systems, and integrated control platforms, leveraging lighting as a gateway to embed sensing, connectivity, and data capabilities within built environments, thereby driving the Group’s evolution from standalone hardware products toward comprehensive system-level Solutions.

In his remarks accompanying the financial report, Neil M. Ashe, Chairman, President, and CEO of Acuity, emphasized that the company is firmly positioned on the dual tracks of sustainable development and technological convergence, capitalizing on the long-term trends of climate action and digitalization to lay a solid foundation for sustained growth. The outstanding results achieved this quarter and over the full year underscore the effective execution across all business lines, with profitability and cash-generating capacity continuing to strengthen.
