Leaders of the China Lighting Association attended the 30th-anniversary celebration of the Shanghai Lighting Association.

On September 21, 2026, the Shanghai Lighting Electrical Appliance Industry Association celebrated its 30th anniversary with a lecture on lighting technology and application trends, held in Shanghai / Beijing. Liu Shengping, Vice Chairman of the China Lighting Electrical Appliance Association, attended the event and delivered a speech. The event was themed “Thirty Years of Light Illuminating Shanghai, A New Journey Leading the Future with Intelligence,” featuring two core pillars: “Anticipating Lighting Trends + Showcasing Industry Passion.” Discussions revolved around green and low-carbon development, smart connectivity, human-centered health, and scene integration. Ling Weihu and Yao Mengming, Vice Chairmen of the China Lighting Electrical Appliance Association; Deng Maolin, Deputy Secretary-General; Zhou Jiangang, President of the Shanghai Lighting Electrical Appliance Industry Association; as well as past presidents, were also in attendance.

In his address, Liu Shengping, Vice Chairman of the China Lighting Electrical Appliance Association, extended warm congratulations on the 30th anniversary of the Shanghai Lighting Electrical Appliance Association and highly commended its work. He noted that Shanghai is a key birthplace of China’s lighting electrical appliance Industry. Over the past three decades, the association has achieved remarkable results and made outstanding contributions through high-standard leadership, deep integration of industry, academia, and research, serving major urban projects such as the World Expo and the China International Import Expo, and nurturing leading national enterprises. Facing today’s complex economic environment and industry challenges, Chairwoman Liu expressed the China Lighting Electrical Appliance Association’s willingness to join hands with the Shanghai Lighting Electrical Appliance Association, offering four recommendations for deepening cooperation: First, co‑develop standards. Jointly advance standard formulation and revision, uphold strict benchmarks, and lead the industry toward high‑quality development. Second, drive technological innovation. Establish industry‑academia‑research platforms to facilitate the translation and implementation of research outcomes across the Yangtze River Delta region. Third, promote healthy competition. Encourage companies to move away from internal competition and focus on building strong brands, shifting instead to quality‑ and technology‑driven rivalry. Fourth, expand market access. Share exhibition and trade resources to help enterprises go global and better respond to market demands.

In his remarks, Zhou Jiangang, President of the Shanghai Lighting Electrical Appliance Association, emphasized that over the past thirty years, the association has remained in sync with the city, advanced alongside the industry, and stood united with its members, witnessing Shanghai’s lighting sector grow from small beginnings to become robust and influential. Standing at this new starting point, the association will continue to serve as a reliable partner to the government, a supportive ally to businesses, and a driving force for the industry—building platforms, connecting resources, setting standards, and promoting applications—to propel Shanghai’s lighting industry from “product export” toward “solution export, brand export, and value export.”

During the “Shanghai Lighting Technology and Application Trends Lecture,” Ling Weihu, Vice Chairman of the China Lighting Electrical Appliance Association and Executive Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Yaming Lighting Co., Ltd., along with Yu Li’ang, Wang Junzuo, Tian Pengfei, and other guests, shared insights on topics including lighting scenarios, AI, low carbon initiatives, and cutting-edge optoelectronic technologies. Meanwhile, Yao Mengming, Vice Chairman of the China Lighting Electrical Appliance Association and General Manager of Lighting Design and Applications for Greater China at Signify, moderated a cross-industry forum on age-friendly lighting. Guests Hao Luoxi, Ma Yanwen, Lu Wanjing, Li Xia, and Ma Zhiwen engaged in a cross-sector dialogue exploring the practical implementation of age-friendly lighting within Shanghai’s “9073” elderly care framework.
