To actively respond to the national "Urban Renewal Action" and the strategic goals of "Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality", promote the transformation and upgrading of urban lighting towards green, smart, and human-centric directions, empower the reshaping of urban spaces and the high-quality development of the night-time economy, the "China Urban Renewal and Lighting Innovation Integrated Development Forum" will be held during the 2026 China (Yangzhou) Outdoor Lighting Exhibition (Spring Edition).

Currently, China's urbanization process has shifted from "incremental expansion" to "stock optimization". As an important part of urban public spaces, urban lighting is facing multidimensional renewal demands integrating "light environment creation, smart control, energy saving and consumption reduction, and cultural heritage inheritance". Meanwhile, new technologies such as 5G, Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence are accelerating their integration with the lighting industry, with smart light poles, light health, and low-carbon light environments becoming important tools for urban renewal. This forum will focus on policy orientation, technical pathways, case practices, and industry synergy to discuss development trends and implementation paths for urban lighting renewal, promote industry innovation and cooperation, and help build a safer, more livable, and smarter modern urban light environment.

Organized and completed the compilation of the national standard for the general requirements of smart multi-functional poles in smart cities.

Lü Jiadong

Professor at Southeast University, Executive Director of the China Illuminating Engineering Society, Executive Director of the China Association of Lighting Industry (CALI), Vice Chairman of the Jiangsu Illuminating Engineering Society, and Chief Science Popularization Expert of Jiangsu Province. Mainly engaged in the research and development of gas and semiconductor light-emitting devices, applications of semiconductor / solid-state lighting (SSL) technology, and automated production processes and special equipment for electric light sources.
