Three Major Challenges Crushing Lighting Companies: Involution, Homogenization, and Low Profits—The Way Out Is Here
2025年8月8日,由中国之光网与建众智业联合主办,浙江省照明电器协会为指导单位的【企业转型期的经营智慧——照明企业私董会】在杭州勇电照明有限公司成功举办。
This private board meeting gathered Longteng Lighting, Fangda Intelligent Control, Yibo High-Tech, Inventronics, Yangguang Lighting, Hengtai Electric, Xingguang Zhilian, Kuaiyue Technology, Xiaojiang IoT, Chuangyang Intelligence, WELLUX, Meinaiyi Optoelectronics, Shangguan Lighting and many other senior executives, focusing on key development issues during the critical transformation period of the lighting industry. Through in-depth insights, case analyses, and brainstorming, they jointly explored ways for companies to break through in an environment of involution, providing important references for the industry’s transformation and development.
At the beginning of the meeting, Hong Bing, Editor-in-Chief of China Light Network and Executive Dean of Ming Classroom, shared "New Markets for AI Low-Carbon Healthy Lighting", providing an in-depth analysis of how AI technology is reshaping the lighting industry landscape. He pointed out that smart lighting systems, leveraging AI algorithms, can achieve adaptive environmental regulation. It is estimated that by 2025, the market size of smart lighting in China will reach 20 billion yuan, with a penetration rate exceeding 30%. Europe and China will become the pioneering markets in this field.

Mr. Hong Bing elaborated on the three core values of AI low-carbon healthy lighting: In office scenarios, by integrating radar sensors and smart APP monitoring, automated control and energy efficiency optimization of lighting systems are achieved, significantly reducing energy consumption; The deep integration of full-spectrum lighting technology and healthy lighting enables lighting equipment to automatically adjust light color and luminance according to human rhythms, effectively improving visual comfort and work efficiency; The combination of healthy light environments and zero-carbon AI is becoming an important direction for the upgrade of the lighting industry.
Mr. Hong Bing also emphasized that lighting enterprises need to formulate strategic layouts focusing on three cores: the deep application of cluster artificial intelligence in the field of smart lighting, the systematic integrated development strategy under the dual carbon goals, and the innovation in smart lighting scenario design led by the concept of light health.

Hou Dingwen, founder of Guangzhou Jianzhong & DRD Design Research Institute and expert in strategic effective operations, , based on the overall industry situation, deeply analyzed the current development status of the lighting field and shared "The Way for Lighting Enterprises to Break Through in the AI Era". She pointed out that in the current highly competitive market, traditional business models face severe challenges such as difficult traffic acquisition and insufficient growth momentum, while self-media operations and personal IP shaping have become key handles to break through the dilemma. Lighting enterprises need to adapt to changes in the communication ecosystem, use new media as wings to reshape brand influence, activate new engines for business growth, and lay the core tone of "breaking through and transforming" for subsequent discussions.
The "Close-range Exchange" session became an important arena for the collision of ideas. Entrepreneurs abandoned a passive listening stance and actively asked questions around practical challenges such as technology implementation and solution conversion. The questions directly addressed pain points in transformation, covering key topics like "balancing investment in R&D and self-media marketing resources" and "difficulties and breakthroughs in shaping the personal IP of founders of traditional enterprises".

With their profound industry accumulation, teachers Hong Bing and Hou Dingwen combined trend analysis with practical experience to answer questions, achieving bidirectional value transmission through "questioning-answering". This deep interaction not only helped individual companies resolve development confusion but also promoted the diffusion of transformation ideas during the exchange, assisting participants in building business strategy systems adapted to their own enterprises.

Cheng Tian, Chief Engineer of Hangzhou Yongdian Lighting Co., Ltd., introduced in detail the company's leading 3D printing technology system. He pointed out that Yongdian uses MMLA 3D printing polymer alloy consumables suitable for long-term outdoor use to manufacture lighting products, which have excellent performance such as UV resistance, V-0 flame retardancy, and high/low temperature resistance.
Mr. Cheng Tian introduced that Yongdian's 3D printing technology has reached the highest flame retardant grade for polymer materials, significantly improving the fire safety performance of products, while enabling stable outdoor use of 3D printed products, maintaining stable performance even in high-temperature regions for a long time. The greatest advantage of this technology lies in supporting personalized small-batch rapid customization, allowing arbitrary customization of patterns and shapes according to customer needs, combining lighting and decorative functions, with an outdoor service life of up to 10 years.
Mr. Cheng Tian stated that Yongdian's 3D printed products strictly meet ROHS environmental protection requirements, and scrap materials can be recycled and reused, fully reflecting the concept of low-carbon environmental protection. Currently, Yongdian has applied for the invention patent of "a 3D printing device and a method for printing luminaires using the device", further consolidating its leading position in the lighting industry.

Subsequently, the participants visited Yongdian's 3D printing exhibition hall and workshop, experiencing the full production process from design to finished product, gaining a more intuitive understanding of the innovative applications of 3D printing technology in the lighting industry.

This private board meeting is a "Transformation Empowerment Platform" jointly created by China Light Net and Jianzhong Zhiye for the lighting industry. From trend insights to case decoding, from expert sharing to interactive exchanges, business wisdom is conveyed progressively. At this critical stage of deep transformation in the lighting industry, the event not only provides guidance on self-media operations and personal IP building for enterprises, but also establishes an ecological link platform for resource sharing and resonance of thinking.
