This training is hosted by the China Association of Lighting Industry (CALI) and organized by the Guangdong Lighting Industry Association.

According to relevant national occupational standards, to apply for Lighting Designer (Level 2), one must meet one of the following conditions:

1. Have been continuously engaged in this occupation for more than 10 years;

2. After obtaining the Assistant Lighting Designer vocational qualification certificate, have been continuously engaged in this occupation for more than 3 years;

3. After obtaining a bachelor's degree in this major or a related major, engage in continuous work in this profession for more than 4 years;

4. After obtaining a master's graduate certificate or a master's degree in this major or a related major, engage in continuous work in this profession for more than 1 year;

5. After obtaining a doctoral graduate certificate or a doctoral degree in this major or a related major.

To improve efficiency and reduce costs, this training adopts a combination of online and offline methods, with no less than 32 class hours for online sessions and no less than 64 class hours for offline sessions.

Level 2 courses include Lighting design fundamentals, electrical fundamentals, indoor lighting design (commercial, hospitality, entertainment spaces, public spaces, etc.), outdoor lighting design (buildings, bridges and other structures, parks, squares), healthy lighting and human centric lighting design, smart lighting design and system applications, PS, CAD, Koolux software courses, design proposal presentation and reporting skills, etc.

Upon completing the prescribed standard training hours and passing the examination, participants will receive the Professional Competency Evaluation Certificate issued by the China National Light Industry Council.

照明设计师（二级）培训考核分为理论考试(100分)、实操考试(100分)和综合评审三部分。理论知识考试采用闭卷笔试方式，实操考试采用上机操作方式进行方案设计，综合评审采取答辩方式，考试成绩实行百分制，成绩不低于60分视为合格。
