In the era of intelligence and sustainable development, light is no longer just a tool for illumination, but a bridge connecting technology and humanity, the nerve endings of smart city construction, and an important carrier for achieving dual carbon goals. The Department of Light Sources and Lighting Engineering at Fudan University (hereinafter referred to as the Fudan Light Source Department), as the cradle of China's lighting technology innovation, has always led this revolution of light.

On June 11, 2025, the themed forum "Fudan Light: Reshaping the Value of Light" will be held during the 30th Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition. This forum specially invites many outstanding Fudan alumni representatives, including academic authorities who have deeply cultivated light source technology for decades, industry pioneers leading the trend of smart lighting, and practitioners who integrate Oriental aesthetics into healthy light environments.

From AI-enabled smart light systems to the latest breakthroughs in healthy lighting, from high-end applications of Micro-LED to the sustainable development of urban lighting, Fudan people will share the most cutting-edge technological innovations and industry insights from a unique perspective.

Zhang Shanduan

Director, Institute of Electric Light Sources, Fudan University


Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Director of the Institute of Electric Light Sources at Fudan University, and Head of the Department of Light Sources and Lighting Engineering at the School of Intelligent Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing Innovation, Fudan University. He received his bachelor's degree from the Department of Light Sources and Lighting Engineering at Fudan University in 1993 and his Ph.D. in Science in 2003. His research focuses on electric light sources and their applications. He has led more than 30 national and local projects, international cooperation projects, and industry-university-research collaboration projects. He has published over 130 papers in domestic and international academic journals, delivered more than 70 invited reports at academic conferences, and holds more than 20 authorized invention patents. Research achievements such as laser plasma light sources, microwave electrodeless UV light sources, excimer UV light sources, and UV LED curing systems have been applied in advanced manufacturing fields such as semiconductors and display panels. The "High-efficiency UV LED Curing System for Optical Fiber Drawing Towers" won the Silver Award for Innovation at the 18th China International Industry Fair in 2016.

Received the Siemens Global Top Plus Award and the Siemens China Excellence Performance Award in 2008, and founded China Light Network in 2009.

Dai Qi

Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the Electric Light Source Research Institute, Fudan University


Mainly engaged in research on LED light source technology and applications, healthy lighting and healthy displays, as well as vision and color science. Published more than 40 papers in internationally authoritative academic journals, cited over 3,500 times; granted more than 20 Chinese and international invention patents; presided over or participated in drafting 6 national, local, and group standards; led multiple vertical scientific research projects, including 3 National Natural Science Foundation of China projects, and more than 20 industry-university-research technology development projects commissioned by leading enterprises; received awards such as the China National Light Industry Council Award and the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award; serves as Deputy Director of the Expert Committee of the Shanghai Illuminating Engineering Society, and as a technical consultant for many leading enterprises in the lighting and display fields.

Chen Wencheng

Senior Director of Global Application Technology, Lighting, ams OSRAM


Undergraduate student, Class of 1999, Department of Light Sources and Illumination Engineering, Fudan University; obtained a Ph.D. in Physical Electronics in 2008.


Joined OSRAM Opto Semiconductors in 2008 and received the ORANGE Global Excellence Award. Was assigned to Regensburg, Germany for one and a half years in 2012, and transferred to Penang, Malaysia in 2017, where he has been working since. Currently serves as Senior Director of Global Applications for Lighting, primarily responsible for various innovative application technologies.


Served as Deputy Director of the Agricultural Lighting Professional Committee of the China Illuminating Engineering Society, and participated in compiling professional books such as "Lighting Design - From Traditional Light Sources to LED" and "Green Lighting - Practical LED Technology".

Yao Hua

Founder of Ziguang Technology, Ph.D.


An advocate and practitioner of smart scene lighting. Holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree from Fudan University, and a Ph.D. in Physics from Rutgers University in the United States. Previously worked at GE in the US, Shanghai Yaming, and the Central Research Institute of Shanghai Instrument Electronics Group. Founded Ziguang Technology in 2017, integrating innovation and sustainable development into the core corporate philosophy. Focuses on the impact of light on health and the ecological environment, integrating light research and application to provide customers with healthy, low-carbon lighting products. Provides personalized, green, and digital "Eco-Light+" overall solutions from design to implementation for diverse application scenarios.

Cheng Tianhui

Senior Lighting Application Architect at Zhuosheng Lighting Co., Ltd.


Holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Light Source and Lighting Engineering from Fudan University. Has been engaged in the lighting design industry for over 17 years, with experience in frontline design on the contractor side and nearly 10 years of integrated design and engineering management experience on the client side, familiar with full-process management from concept to implementation. Worked for many years at SOHO China, Wanda Planning Institute, and CIFI Group, collaborating with multiple top international architectural firms, completing over 400 projects, including nearly 20 top landmark projects. Keeps abreast of international lighting trends and has translated and published six foreign lighting books, including "Indoor Lighting Design", "LPA Architectural Lighting Design Trends", "OVI Architectural Lighting Design and Process", and "Lighting Ergonomics".
