Notice | The themed forum "Fudan Light: Reshaping the Value of Light" will be held at GILE (Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition)

"The sun and moon shine with brilliance, day after day" is the origin of the name "Fudan". For the Department of Light Sources and Lighting Engineering at Fudan University, it represents the dream of pursuing light.

Over the past 40 years, the Department of Light Sources at Fudan University has been dedicated to education, continuously cultivating talent, pioneering innovation, and promoting the development of the electric light source industry. To date, the Department has trained more than 3,000 comprehensive lighting professionals with solid foundations and an international perspective, including bachelor's, master's, and doctoral graduates. Working in positions across the country, they contribute their light and heat, dedicated to researching and developing various general and special lighting sources, luminaires and systems, conducting research in lighting science and applications, planning and designing the most beautiful lighting projects, empowering the lighting industry with artificial intelligence, further enhancing independent innovation capabilities, and constantly exploring new fields in electric light sources.

Forty Years of Brilliance, Carrying Forward the Legacy! On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Department of Light Sources and Lighting Engineering at Fudan University, to further help researchers, enterprise technicians, and application units in the lighting industry gain a deeper understanding of scientific research, technological innovation, and application trends in the lighting field, the themed forum "Fudan Light: Reshaping the Value of Light" will be grandly held on June 10, 2024, during the 29th GILE.

Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Director of the Department of Light Sources and Lighting Engineering, School of Information Science and Technology, Fudan University; Director of the Institute of Electric Light Sources, Fudan University.

Undergraduate student of the Class of 1993 in the Department of Light Sources and Lighting Engineering at Fudan University; received a Ph.D. in Science in 2003.

Research focuses on electric light sources and their applications. He has led more than 30 national and local projects, international cooperation projects, and industry-university-research collaboration projects. He has published over 110 papers in domestic and international academic journals, delivered more than 70 invited presentations at academic conferences, and holds more than 20 authorized invention patents. His research results have been applied in fields such as vacuum ultraviolet and ultraviolet light source systems, full-LED standard light source color assessment cabinets, and horticultural lighting. The "High-Efficiency UV LED Photocuring System for Optical Fiber Drawing Towers" won the Silver Award for Innovation at the 18th China International Industry Fair in 2016.

Published more than 40 papers in internationally authoritative academic journals, cited over 3,500 times; granted more than 20 Patents in China and internationally; presided over or participated in drafting 6 national, local, and group standards; led multiple vertical scientific research projects, including 3 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and more than 20 industry-university-research technology development projects commissioned by leading enterprises in the industry; received awards such as the China Light Industry Federation Award and the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award; serves as Deputy Director of the Expert Committee of the Shanghai Lighting Society, and as a technical consultant for many leading enterprises in the lighting and display fields.

Joined OSRAM Opto Semiconductors in 2008 and received the “ORANGE” Global Excellence Talent Award. Was assigned to work in Germany for one and a half years in 2012, and transferred to Penang, Malaysia in 2017, where he has been working since, mainly responsible for various LED innovative lighting application technologies. Ms. Su Weimin has been engaged in standardization work as a strategic positioning for many years, leading and participating in international and domestic standardization efforts across a wide range of fields, including digital rights management (DRM), home networking, audio/video codecs, stereoscopic display, wireless charging, smart homes, connected lighting, and sustainable development. In recent years, her scope of work has expanded to countries across Asia. Currently, Ms. Su also serves as the Chairman of the China Member Group of the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), actively promoting the implementation of ZigBee and Matter standards in China and in the smart home sector, and has been awarded the "Excellence in Leadership" award by the CSA Alliance.

She graduated from Tsinghua University, Shanghai Institute of Computing Technology, and Fudan University, obtaining bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in computer software, respectively.
