The 22nd China Chengdu Building Materials & Home Furnishing Exhibition
On December 6, the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee held a meeting, emphasizing that in 2023 we must “promote an overall improvement in economic operation and vigorously boost market confidence.” On December 7, the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council proposed further optimizing epidemic prevention and control with the “New Ten Measures.” After the implementation of the new regulations, enterprises across the country ushered in a “rush for orders,” further signaling stability in the economy and protection of people’s livelihoods. Looking ahead to 2023, as professionals in the home furnishings industry, we can only say: that “spring” is truly coming!
As a major event in the home furnishing and building decoration industry, jointly organized by the globally renowned exhibition group Informa Markets and the China Building Materials Circulation Association, the China Chengdu Building Materials & Home Furnishing Exhibition has been successfully held for 21 consecutive editions, gaining recognition and support from numerous brand exhibitors and professional visitors. The 22nd China Chengdu Building Materials & Home Furnishing Exhibition will be held from April 19 to 21, 2023, at the Western China International Expo City, with a total exhibition area of 150,000 m², more than 1,700 exhibiting companies, over 40,000 new products on display, and more than 40 on-site forums and new product launch events. It is expected to attract 120,000 professional visitors. This edition will take practical actions to help enterprises achieve high-quality development in 2023, showcasing the latest achievements in whole-house customization, intelligence, design, and green sectors through business matchmaking, new product launches, focus on industry hotspots, and technical exchanges, leading industry technological innovation, development directions, and consumption trends. To this end, the 22nd China Chengdu Building Materials & Home Furnishing Exhibition in 2023 has made three strategic breakthroughs:

Breakthrough One: Further expansion of exhibition scale, one-stop experience for industry brands
In recent years, as consumers' demand for one-stop renovation services has continued to rise, whole-house decoration has undoubtedly become a new trend in the industry. The scale of the 22nd China Chengdu Building Decoration Expo has further expanded, with a total of 12 main halls plus 5 connecting halls planned: Halls 1, 2, and 4 are for doors and windows; Hall 3 is for the door industry and smart home; the Hall 1-2 connector is for door and window equipment; the Hall 3-4 connector is for the smart home exhibition area; Hall 5 and the Hall 5-6 connector are for wall surfaces/ceilings/flooring/soft furnishings; Hall 6 is for prefabricated buildings and new building materials; Hall 9 is for forum activities; Halls 10, 10-11 connector, 11, and 14 are for custom home furnishing; Hall 15 and the Hall 14-15 connector are for sanitary ware; and Hall 16 is for HVAC and kitchen appliances. The total exhibition area is 150,000 square meters, linking more than 1,700 enterprises across the upstream and downstream of the industry. It strives to provide professional visitors with a one-stop visit to the home furnishing and building decoration industry, leading enterprises to gain a deeper understanding of new ideas for the future development of the whole-house decoration track.
Breakthrough Two: Accelerating Enterprise Layout in County-Level Development and Promoting the Sinking of Brand Distribution Channels
While consolidating the quantity and quality of audiences in first- and second-tier cities, the 22nd China Chengdu Building Decoration Expo will focus on expanding into third- and fourth-tier cities and township markets in western provinces and cities such as Sichuan, Chongqing, Shaanxi, and Guizhou, increasing the number of professional visitors from these regions, expanding the scale of the attending audience, and helping enterprises sink their sales channels.
According to statistics from the China Building Decoration Association, in 2021, the total proportion of home decoration consumption in third- and fourth-tier cities and townships reached 29%, surpassing that of first- and second-tier cities (21%) for the first time. Four departments, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, explicitly proposed in the "Action Plan for Promoting High-Quality Development of the Home Furnishing Industry" to "expand the home furnishing consumer market in third- and fourth-tier cities" and "encourage home furnishing enterprises to develop personalized, customized, and healthy products for the rural market, promoting consumption upgrades among rural residents." It is evident that the trend of sinking home furnishing consumption is obvious, and third- and fourth-tier cities may become key nodes for enterprise recovery and development in 2023.

Breakthrough Three: Building a High-Quality Brand Promotion Platform to Assist Enterprises in IP Creation
After nearly two decades of development, the China Chengdu Building Decoration Expo has gained significant recognition and influence among industry practitioners. Many well-known enterprises in the industry, including Kaida Mingmen, Huangpai Doors and Windows, Tiandong Doors and Windows, Oppein Doors and Windows, Daqian Mendao, Jingjing, Guibao Technology, Sacon, Jiufangfang, Dingmei, Youbang, Schulz, Lecheng Jiale, Gelilan, Baige, Baijuyi, Jiajiahao, Lekeduo, Deli, Kaadas, Vanward, Little Squirrel, Midea, Meiduo, Wanshixing, Zhepai, and Duowei United Group, Huabang Baohe Group, have participated for three consecutive years. In 2023, they once again made a concentrated appearance at the 22nd China Chengdu Building Decoration Expo with exhibition areas exceeding 300 square meters each, making it an important stage for companies to continuously promote brand publicity and construction. This edition of the expo will join hands with enterprises to further create a dual online and offline display platform, focusing on on-site investment promotion, brand publicity, resource co-expansion, and live streaming, helping enterprises build their IP and enhance audience recognition and loyalty to corporate brands.
As the post-90s and post-00s generations enter the social stage, the leading role of brands for consumers has become more prominent, and more companies are paying greater attention to shaping their brand image. Seizing both online and offline tracks, highlighting the uniqueness of enterprises and products, and cultivating fan users have become key growth points for corporate development. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development also mentioned in the "Action Plan for Promoting High-Quality Development of the Home Furnishing Industry": "Support the holding of international home furnishing expos and other activities to strengthen economic and trade cooperation and brand promotion."

When spring blossoms bloom, it is finally time to meet. The implementation of new regulations and policies has brought new challenges and opportunities, and the market is bound to face a new round of reshuffling. This expo is committed to promoting higher-level development of the industry, building a platform for brand expansion and promotional publicity, helping enterprises seize market opportunities first, and providing visitors with a convenient and efficient exhibition experience. From April 19 to 21, 2023, at the China Western International Expo City, the 22nd China Chengdu Building Decoration Expo, we always keep our promise and look forward to meeting you in spring!
