"2021 Smart Agriculture Supporting Rural Revitalization" Practical Workshop

Source: China Light Views: 3580

In recent years, driven by strong national promotion and support, China's smart agriculture has developed rapidly and achieved notable results. However, despite this rapid growth, compared with developed countries abroad, China still lacks fundamental research and technological accumulation, resulting in a significant gap in overall technical level. Specifically, the bottleneck technologies constraining the development of smart agriculture in China include:

First, backwardness in agricultural-specific sensors;

Second, low accuracy in plant and animal models and intelligent decision-making, where many cases rely on sequential control rather than demand-based decision control;

Third, there is a lack of intelligent and precise operational equipment, resulting in poor work quality. This is reflected in the promotion of smart agriculture applications: while pilot projects have been launched across provinces and cities nationwide, most remain isolated "bonsai" examples, lacking the widespread "landscape" of large-scale smart agriculture adoption.

The "National Rural Revitalization Strategic Plan (2018–2022)" points out the need to vigorously develop digital agriculture, implement smart agriculture projects and the "Internet+" modern agriculture action, encourage digital transformation of agricultural production, strengthen the application of agricultural remote sensing and the Internet of Things, and improve the level of precision in agriculture.

As an important component of the rural revitalization strategy, what difficulties does smart agriculture currently face? What countermeasures are currently available? What significance does smart agriculture hold for achieving rural revitalization? What is the future market outlook for smart agriculture?
