Forum on the Development of China's Healthy Lighting Industry in the Post-Pandemic Era

In the internet era of rapid information dissemination, environmental pollution and sudden outbreaks have doubled residents' attention to health. Emerging healthy products are springing up rapidly, with healthy home appliance products receiving particular attention from consumers. According to GfK China's 2020 consumer survey on high-end home appliances, future consumers' primary concern when purchasing home appliances is protecting the health of the entire family, with health factors playing an increased role in purchase decisions.

As a home appliance that people interact with almost daily, in the post-pandemic era driven by consumption upgrades, besides lighting and decorative functions, luminaires must also have a positive auxiliary effect on users' physical and mental health. UV disinfection luminaires have also played an important role in health protection in the post-pandemic era. This also means that healthy lighting and possessing a healthy light environment have become common demands of consumers.

The "Forum on the Development of China's Healthy Lighting Industry in the Post-Pandemic Era," hosted by the China Association of Lighting Industry (CALI) and co-organized by China Light Net and Shanghai Bofhua International Exhibition Co., Ltd., will be held on March 30, 2021, from 13:00 to 17:00. The forum will discuss the impact of healthy light on humans, the importance of a healthy light environment, as well as the development trends and technological achievements of the healthy lighting industry in the post-pandemic era.

Brief Introductions of Selected Experts

Hao Luoxi

Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University

Serves as Vice President of the International Commission on Illumination (CIE), Special Vice Chairman of the China Illuminating Engineering Society, and Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Illuminating Engineering Society. Has long been engaged in teaching, scientific research, and engineering practice in light, vision, color, and lighting design. In recent years, has focused on evidence-based research and design applications for healthy human-centric lighting environments.

Zhang Shanduan

Director of the Institute of Electric Light Sources at Fudan University, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor

Head of the Department of Light Sources and Lighting Engineering at Fudan University, and Deputy Director of the Ministry of Education Engineering Research Center for Advanced Lighting Technology. Research focuses on electric light sources and their applications. Has long been engaged in scientific research and teaching in the field of light sources and lighting, leading more than 20 projects including National Natural Science Foundation projects, provincial and ministerial projects, international cooperation projects, and industry-university-research cooperation projects. Published over 200 papers in domestic and international academic journals and conferences, delivered more than 50 invited reports at academic conferences, and holds more than 10 authorized invention patents. Research results have been practically applied in general lighting and special lighting fields such as UV LED photocuring systems, array LED luminaires, horticultural lighting, excimer lamps, and high-power-density low-pressure mercury lamps. The "High-Efficiency UV LED Photocuring System for Optical Fiber Drawing Towers" won the Innovation Silver Award at the 18th China International Industry Fair in 2016.

Graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a Master's degree in Physics. Previously worked at internationally renowned companies such as Philips（照明业务：Signify 昕诺飞）, OSRAM, and Seoul Semiconductor, holding positions in R&D, technical support, marketing, and sales management. With over 16 years of experience in the LED packaging and lighting industry, he possesses extensive expertise and has conducted in-depth research on technology and market trends in general lighting, healthy lighting, horticultural lighting, and other professional lighting fields.

Led or participated in the drafting of 12 national standards and group standards, of which 9 have been published; published 36 papers in domestic and international journals, including 22 as first author; participated in writing two monographs, "Lighting Design - From Traditional Light Sources to LED" and "Practical Technology for LED Lighting Testing", among which the book "Lighting Design - From Traditional Light Sources to LED" won the First Prize of the China Illumination Award for Education and Academic Contribution; successively won the Second and Third Prizes for Excellent Papers in "Journal of Illuminating Engineering" by China Illuminating Engineering Society, the Third Prize for Outstanding Academic Achievements in Standardization in Shanghai, the honorary title of "Outstanding Young Scientific and Technological Worker" by China Illuminating Engineering Society, and the Excellent Paper Award at the 11th Asian Lighting Conference.
