2020Guangzhou International Lighting ExhibitionThe new dates are set forSeptember 30 to October 3, 2020, held at the China Import and Export Fair Complex. Stay tuned for today's news:

On May 19, GILE officially announced that this year's exhibition would be postponed to September 30–October 3. Following the announcement, the industry was stirred up, and we received numerous messages from exhibitors and visitors in our backend, mainly focusing on these aspects:
Holding the exhibition during the National Day holiday?
This time?
Are you serious?
Will you exhibit?
Are there visitors?
What is the significance of exhibiting?
How to participate?
What are the highlights?
Indeed, with the severe pandemic, the domestic economy urgently needing recovery, and overseas markets desperately needing to find an export outlet, should companies exhibit? What does this exhibition mean for exhibitors and visitors?...
These are questions that everyone is concerned about, and many people believe they want an answer. To this end, GILE specially interviewed Mr. Hu Zhongshun, General Manager of Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co., Ltd., hoping to answer everyone's questions through dialogue with him.

The only large-scale exhibition in the lighting industry
Q: This year, GILE is of extraordinary significance to the lighting industry. As the first major exhibition in the lighting industry this year, what impact and significance does the holding of GILE have on the industry's recovery and development?
GILE may be the only large-scale exhibition in the lighting industry in China and even globally this year, so I believe that this year's exhibition has extraordinary significance for the entire lighting industry. It will become a weather vane for the economic recovery of the lighting market, the hope of the industry, and the sole focus.
How to showcase our product technology and corporate strength in this exhibition, seize business opportunities and revive the economy is particularly important and crucial for the development of our industry and each enterprise.
This year, as the organizer, we stand firmly with enterprises through wind and rain, working together with the industry. By building an exhibition platform, we help enterprises resume production and operations as soon as possible after the epidemic, restore orders and buyer confidence, return the market to normal operation, and minimize the impact of the epidemic on enterprises to the greatest extent.
Holding the exhibition during National Day is the best choice
Q: The exhibition is scheduled for September 30 to October 3 this year. Many exhibitors have questions: Why was it scheduled during the National Day holiday?
We eagerly hope that the pandemic will end soon; at the same time, we are urgent to start the exhibition early to help enterprises recover their economy and orders.
Therefore, while minimizing the impact of the pandemic, accelerating the recovery of the lighting market economy and ensuring the scale and effectiveness of the exhibition is the best choice made after discussions with various industries and careful consideration.
The focus and hopes of the industry will converge here
Q: The overseas pandemic situation remains severe, and domestic epidemic prevention and control are still ongoing. What foreseeable impacts will this have on this year's exhibition? How can the effectiveness of participation be ensured?
During the SARS outbreak, GILE was postponed once, but the number of attendees not only did not decrease; it reached a new high. Just like the Guangzhou International Epidemic Prevention Materials Exhibition held this June, although the epidemic has not ended, its popularity was exceptionally high.
Starting from June, major exhibitions have been held successively. By October, mature operational experience and prevention and control measures will be formed. I believe that by then the epidemic will also be under better control.
Moreover, holding this GILE responds to the industry's urgent expectation and inevitable demand for market recovery. After the earlier suppressed economy, when the epidemic improves and prevention and control measures are appropriate, the market may rebound. Therefore, this year's GILE will not be unpopular; instead, its热度 will greatly increase, because it is the only lighting exhibition this year, and the focus and hope of the entire lighting industry will converge here.
Shared belief, shared direction forward
Q: The theme of the 2020 exhibition is "Tong" (Together/Same). How do you interpret this "Tong"?
On one hand, "Tong" represents shared beliefs. We hope the exhibition and industry practitioners will walk together with a common belief in the industry, turning adversity into momentum amidst current challenges, adding more value to "light" and bringing more business opportunities. Thanks to industry support, the exhibition has remained fresh over time, becoming the best platform for sharing industry information, exchanging innovative designs, and showcasing cutting-edge technologies. We continue to grow with practitioners on the lighting path, creating more legends.
On the other hand, "Tong" also represents a common direction forward. Just as the development of the lighting industry has spanned over a century, Luminaire emit light and heat, bringing brightness, warmth, and hope to people. What drives all this is human belief and persistence. With the same love for the industry, we have worked silently, continuously researching and innovating to create infinite possibilities for "light". We have come a long way, from the initial pursuit of artificial light sources to today's new lighting that integrates advanced technologies such as the Internet of Things, optical communication, and big data analytics. From incandescent lamps and Energy saving lamps to LED and connected lighting, we have never stopped improving life experiences.
A series of benchmarks and extraordinary events
Q: On the occasion of the 25th anniversary, what changes and constants will this year's exhibition bring to the industry in terms of "innovation"? What anticipated changes and highlights are there?
For 25 years, one thing we have been unwaveringly committed to is: connecting lighting companies with buyers and building a bridge between supply and demand. This is the core value and historical mission we have consistently upheld.
At the same time, we innovate annually by launching a series of benchmark and extraordinary events. For example, the 2020 "Thinking · Lighting" Conference will focus on the theme of "Unity." Under the broader directions of "New Infrastructure," "New Consumption Models," and "New Business Formats," it will explore how enterprises can jointly discuss strategies to break through and establish new paths in this brand-new, complex, ever-changing, and challenging market. The conference will invite exhibiting manufacturers and industry associations to showcase new technologies and products and share R&D achievements. Additionally, multiple business matchmaking activities and roundtable meetings will be held, categorized by product, to provide more face-to-face networking opportunities for manufacturers, visitors, and experts, encouraging in-depth discussions and creating more opportunities.
Import more buyer resources to expand marketing effectiveness
Q: The epidemic is severe and the economy is sluggish. As the exhibition organizer, what preferential and support policies do you offer to enterprises?
This year, we have increased investment efforts and imported more buyer resources to help enterprises expand their marketing effectiveness. For instance, the "Guangya Online Brand Exhibition" created from June 9th to 10th this year aims to help enterprises increase exposure, expand their reach, and reduce customer acquisition costs through this form of online-offline integrated development.
There is also an online exhibition in September
Q: Regarding the recently held "GILE Online Brand Exhibition", how do you view its effectiveness and the significance of online exhibitions? What are your plans for the future?
This online exhibition flexibly applied modern information technologies such as the Internet and big data, integrating online digital information, negotiations, displays, and matching into one platform, bringing a brand-new experience to exhibitors and visitors. It made positive and meaningful attempts to promote the integrated development of enterprises online and offline, expand promotional effects, and leverage synergistic effects, achieving substantial results. The online exhibition will continue to be held concurrently on September 30, empowering enterprise development.
Expectations and hopes for this year's exhibition
Q: Is there anything else you would like to share with the industry? What are your expectations and hopes for this year's exhibition?
I believe that this exhibition gathers and showcases not only new technologies and new products, but also the confidence and hope of the entire industry. We are very confident in this year's GILE, will live up to the industry's expectations, and will work together with the industry to create new brilliance.
