Lighting at Merus Winery in California, USA
California, the "Golden State," accounts for nearly 90% of U.S. wine production; Merus Winery is located in the Napa Valley, which contributes significantly to this output. Napa County, once producing many different crops, is now renowned for its exquisite wine industry and is also one of the world's premier tourist destinations. Breathtaking scenery is everywhere you turn – mustard flowers in late winter, vineyards year-round, and rolling hills dotted with wineries of every size grace the picturesque landscape.

Merus Winery upholds excellence with no compromise on these high standards, preserving and elevating a truly luxury product from a premium individual cult brand to the highest level. UXUS commissioned a consultancy to design and create a unique experience where customers will value excellence alongside the complexity of the Merus brand.

The winery is based on personal experience, advanced cultural heritage with modern advantages, and unique cultural juxtapositions. The winery floor plan is mainly divided into three areas: the tasting room, the cave tasting tables, and event spaces. The tasting room is located in the main building of Merus Winery, featuring a style that combines subtle elements. UXUS designed and completed the clear varnish chess-like appearance in the tasting room, using natural oak wood stained to leave black accents as well. The bungalow-style roof, dark hardwood floors, and lighting create a sophisticated yet engaging environment.
