Another World Landmark Illuminated: OSRAM Indoor Lighting Brings Dazzling New Light to Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center

Shenzhen, China, July 13, 2020 – Recently, under the guidance of the Notice from the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province on Matters Concerning the Holding of Large-scale Economic and Trade Activities and Mass Gathering Promotional Activities During the Prevention and Control of the Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia Epidemic, the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center has resumed work in an orderly manner under comprehensive strict prevention measures, and launched an intelligent innovation service platform to build a digital exhibition. Meanwhile, the bright, comfortable, and energy-saving lighting effects brought by the newly launched OSRAM indoor lighting solution at the convention center have become a major highlight of this resumption of work.

The Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center integrates functions such as exhibitions, conferences, events, dining, shopping, and offices, covering a total area of approximately 1.48 million square meters, with a total indoor exhibition area of 500,000 square meters, setting eight "world records" including the "largest convention and exhibition center in the world." In response to the architectural characteristics of large spans and large spaces, OSRAM followed the concept of mixed lighting for product scheme design, providing pleasant and uniform illumination for the entire venue while also meeting the special requirements of specific areas by making full use of natural light sources for local lighting. More than 100,000 sets of OSRAM indoor lighting luminaires and sports lighting luminaires are distributed throughout the convention center based on the principle of "adapting to local conditions," covering more than ten sub-areas such as multi-function halls, media centers, banquet halls, international lecture halls, and stadiums, creating a modern space that is flicker-free, grain-free, and free of dark zones.

To align with the "green exhibition" concept of the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center, OSRAM not only conserves light usage according to the building's daylighting characteristics, but also presets several operating states in the luminaire dimming scheme, enabling staff to switch to suitable lighting for different areas and activities, making the internal environment of the center more comfortable. All luminaire products adopt the DALI communication protocol and are interconnected with the convention center's central control system, thereby enabling platform-based management of over 100,000 luminaires, achieving large-scale lighting control to meet demand-based usage and reduce consumption.
