Signify helps Stade Vélodrome in Marseille become France's largest 100% LED-lit stadium
Global lighting leader Signify (Euronext Amsterdam code: LIGHT) provided LED equipment for the Stade Vélodrome (Orange Velodrome) in Marseille, making it the largest stadium in France with 100% LED coverage. The Stade Vélodrome is the home ground of Olympique de Marseille, with 67,000 seats. Through Signify's Interact Sports smart connected sports lighting system, light, sound and animations can be integrated to allow spectators to enjoy a new immersive lighting experience.
Based on the latest standards from international sports federations and broadcasters, Philips ArenaVision professional sports lighting LED flood lamps, part of Signify's portfolio, are installed in the stands and on the field, providing first-class field lighting and light shows to ignite fans' passion for the game. This LED technology meets flicker-free requirements, allowing fans to see all match details in high definition even from home.

On the field, fans can appreciate real-time capture of players' movements and emotions, as well as replays in super slow motion. Furthermore, centralized control of the Interact Sports system and software via a dashboard provides stadium managers with greater flexibility, significantly improving venue management efficiency.
"The Philips ArenaVision professional sports lighting LED flood lamps are connected to the Signify Interact Sports smart connected lighting system, providing a unique tool for Marseille fans, spectators, and citizens. Combined with the new sound system, it creates an unforgettable match-viewing experience. This brings immersion to the stadium, resonating with the audience and evoking excitement and pride. The initial test conducted with fans was very successful; the lighting highlighted their creativity and actions. We welcome their ideas to help Marseille and the club achieve the highest reputation," shared Thierry Aldebert, Deputy General Manager responsible for club operations.

In terms of environmental protection, the Signify Interact Sports smart connected lighting system at the Vélodrome Stadium also features long lifespan, high flexibility, and ease of maintenance, helping to achieve the stadium's sustainability goals. With the Interact Sports software, the lighting within the stadium can be adjusted to meet different sports and entertainment events.
"We are particularly proud of our collaboration with the Vélodrome Stadium, where fans and spectators can enjoy light shows synchronized with music. The system's long lifespan and ease of maintenance significantly enhance durability, thereby supporting the stadium in achieving its sustainability goals. Additionally, we have signed a 15-year service contract to ensure the continuous performance of the lighting equipment," stated Thomas Bozek, General Manager of Professional Channels at Signify France.
Through this investment, the Vélodrome Stadium once again demonstrates its determination to become one of the most recognized and future-oriented venues for organizing and hosting major sports and entertainment events in the world.
The lighting equipment includes 316 Philips ArenaVision LED flood lamps for pitch lighting and 60 Philips ArenaVision LED flood lamps for stand lighting. All flood lamps are controlled by the Interact Sports system.
