Manjia Mei Hotel Lighting Case: Forsthofalm, Austria
Forsthofalm Hotel is located at the foot of the picturesque Alps at an altitude of 1050 meters. It is the first log-built hotel in Salzburg, Austria. The hotel covers an area of 1200 square meters and adopts the latest Manjia Mei® lighting technology. Compared with traditional lighting products, it can save 38,973 euros in electricity bills and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 120,038 kilograms annually.*

Forsthofalm was built in the 1970s and was originally a small restaurant. The Wiedauer family discovered the tourism business opportunities here, so they added overnight accommodation facilities on the basis of the restaurant. The hotel used locally harvested logs to expand the original restaurant scale. The hotel was completed and officially opened in 2013.
The Wiedauer family pays great attention to organic elements and environmental protection, striving to integrate the lighting inside and outside the hotel with the surrounding natural environment. In addition to being highly energy-saving, the lighting of Forsthofalm Hotel also highlights the warm texture of the wood grain, creating a comfortable and intimate accommodation atmosphere for guests visiting in winter and summer.

The Wiedauer family partnered with Leopold Rokos Ltd to adopt Megaman® LED lighting technology for the hotel's original site and expansion facilities. Mr. Markus Wiedauer, owner of Hotel Forsthofalm, stated: "Both the original building and the extension are constructed based on passive house principles. In other words, during construction, we and the architects examined the ecological footprint of building materials to minimize the project's environmental impact. Megaman®'s sustainable development, high energy efficiency materials and technology align perfectly with the hotel's concept, making it our preferred lighting solution."
Leopold Rokos, Executive Director of Leopold Rokos GmbH and Megaman® lighting dealer, stated: "The designers and owners of Hotel Forsthofalm not only required an energy-efficient lighting solution but also needed to ensure a comfortable and pleasant lighting environment for guests at all times. The designers aimed to showcase the natural style of wood design to guests without creating an artificial feel. Furthermore, the luminaires had to generate minimal heat and reduce glare as much as possible, allowing hotel guests to easily enjoy the magnificent view of the 30 mountain peaks."

To create a soft and uniform wall lighting effect, the hotel installed 740 units of Megaman® 6W LED PAR16 GU10 35° wide-angle reflector spotlights and 470 units of Megaman® 11W E27 dimmable LED Classic series bulbs in all public and private areas. The entire lighting system is paired with Beckhoff Lichtsysteme lighting control solutions to fully leverage Megaman® LED technology in ambiance setting and energy saving benefits. Additionally, Megaman® adopted a unique geometric axial LED lamp design combined with Megaman®'s patented 'Thermal Conductive Highway™' technology, ensuring accurate light direction and reduced glass glare, providing guests indoors with an optimal lighting experience for viewing the best outdoor scenery.
Mr. Markus Wiedauer, owner of Hotel Forsthofalm, stated: "The lighting effect is just right. The hotel lighting is outstanding and energy efficient, creating a friendly and warm atmosphere without affecting the guests' interest in enjoying the magnificent panoramic view of the Alps."
