Megaman Residential Lighting Case Study: Green Haven Estate, Netherlands

Megaman® LED and energy-saving lamps are highly regarded by commercial users. Thanks to their outstanding energy saving benefits, they have helped a luxury private residence in the Netherlands save thousands of pounds in electricity costs.

The Soestduinen estate in the Netherlands adopted the latest energy saving technology and was built over two years with the aim of creating a green home. The entire house uses Megaman® energy-saving light bulbs, earning it the name “Green Haven Estate”. The average life of these energy-saving light bulbs is at least 30,000 hours (equivalent to 10 years), saving the owner more than €150,000 in electricity bills and reducing CO₂ emissions by 240,000 kg.

Green Haven Estate uses a variety of Megaman® LED spotlights and energy-saving lamps. Compared with traditional quartz lamps, Megaman® LED spotlights offer superior lighting performance, with the advantages of high energy efficiency, excellent color rendering, and low heat dissipation.

To fully leverage the energy saving characteristics of Manjia Mei® lighting products, Lvyin Villa also partnered with Domotica to adopt an integrated lighting control solution. Additionally, the residence employs GIRA's Instabus KNX/EIB system, designing a durable, highly efficient, and responsive lighting control system in accordance with global industry standards. The Instabus KNX/EIB system offers multiple lighting solutions, enabling installers to fully utilize home resources and achieve visualized energy consumption management.

The Domotica system features default scenes on every touch screen and display, while the GIRA system includes functions such as daylight control, dynamic control, carbon dioxide emission monitoring, and external temperature monitoring. The residence can automatically adjust the lighting effects in main areas based on natural daylight. With the adoption of the integrated lighting system, Lvyin Villa will fully realize energy saving benefits day and night.

The owner hoped to create an efficient, energy saving, stylish, and comfortable home environment through this lighting project. Thanks to the latest lighting technology, the owner's dream has finally come true. Table lamps, floor lamps, and pendant lights use various Megaman® dimmable and non-dimmable energy saving lamps. In addition, Megaman® dimmable T2 integrated straight tubes are specially used to create an all-around indirect lighting effect.
