The story of PizzaExpress began with its founder, Peter Boizot, who loved pizza since childhood and developed a passion for travel and fine dining as he grew up. Determined to bring delicious Italian-style pizza to the UK, Peter Boizot opened the first PizzaExpress outlet in 1965 on Wardour Street in central London (now the famous Chinatown). PizzaExpress has continued to grow and expand, and today operates more than 500 outlets worldwide, becoming the largest and most recognized casual dining brand among consumers in the UK.

Driven by a love for art, every PizzaExpress restaurant is meticulously designed using high-quality natural materials to create timeless and practical interiors. The open kitchen serves as a vibrant stage, becoming the focal point for diners.

The design of all PizzaExpress restaurants shares a core element, while also encouraging designers to add a unique touch to each location. This meticulous attention to culinary craftsmanship and environmental design ensures that diners, while leisurely enjoying their meals, are often inspired by the pervasive creativity of their surroundings.

In 2014, PizzaExpress selected Megaman® 15W LED AR111 series light sources and matching luminaire products as the main lighting for all its restaurants in China.

The soft lighting effect creates an ideal dining atmosphere. The luminaires, perfectly integrated with the restaurant design, fully showcase the designer's style.
