De Vierbannen Brasserie beer restaurant is located at the westernmost tip of Zeeland, Netherlands, offering breathtaking 360° sea views and integrating sustainable energy design with beautiful restaurant scenery. To fully enjoy the natural landscape, De Vierbannen Brasserie has also installed floor-to-ceiling glass windows. For Frans Kroonen, lighting designer at Sight Light BV for the restaurant, this design presents both opportunities and challenges. Sight Light BV needed to use the most energy-saving lighting techniques to set the ambiance and reduce glare from the floor-to-ceiling glass.

Megaman® LED AR111 reflector lamps feature a unique geometric axial LED design combined with patented Thermal Conductive Highway™ technology, creating precise and concentrated beam angles with outstanding luminous efficacy, heat dissipation performance, and lumen maintenance. These lamps are used in the upper and lower bars, restaurant, and conference rooms. Their lifespan is 13 times that of quartz lamps, while saving 80% on electricity consumption.

  

The beer bar adopts an oval lighting fixture design, using a total of 216 Megaman® LED 10W 2800K 45° G53 dimmable AR111 reflector lamps. With a lifespan of up to 40,000 hours and paired with advanced dimming controllers, the brightness can be adjusted down to 1%, ensuring precise lighting effects.


  

The owner of De Vierbannen restaurant is very satisfied with Megaman® products. In addition to versatile lighting effects, the low heat emission from the light sources enhances the dining experience for guests. Whether during the day or at night, the lighting does not affect the view for diners at De Vierbannen Brasserie.

  

The beer restaurant uses the latest Megaman® LED technology, saving €6,160 in electricity costs and reducing CO2 emissions by 13,950 kg annually. In other words, over the entire lifecycle, it saves €89,300 (including lamp replacement costs) and reduces CO2 emissions by 148,600 kg*.


  

* Energy consumption calculation basis:

  

Replacing 12V 50W quartz lamps in the lobby, corridors, restaurant and bar with 216 units of 20V 10W G53 LED AR111 lamps (operating 12 hours a day, 6 days a week).

  

CO2 emissions: 0.43 kg/kWh and energy cost: €0.19/kWh
