The first flagship property of “SURYA Sheriya,” a new brand under the Anadi Hotels Group, has opened at the Shanghai Xinhongqiao Center, creating a luxury resort hotel centered on urban rejuvenation. The interior design was crafted by CAPC Puzhi Interior Design Consulting Co., Ltd., using “flowing light and shadow” as its guiding motif to convey the elegant charm of Jiangnan gardens through a contemporary architectural language.

Sheriya Hotel aims to offer travelers a serene retreat where they can unwind and reconnect with themselves. To this end, spatial texture, atmospheric ambiance, and rhythmic responsiveness are given top priority. Accordingly, the project enlisted the renowned lighting design firm The Flaming Beacon to oversee the lighting design, while OLL, the design brand under Opple Lighting, provided luminaire supply and lighting design development, leveraging its high‑quality, diverse product range and end‑to‑end customization capabilities to ensure the full realization of the design vision.

Upon entering the hotel lobby, the fatigue of travel is gently washed away by warm, luminous light. OLL discreetly integrated flexible wall‑washing fixtures into the building’s structure, allowing for even, diffused illumination that enhances the lobby’s spacious scale and understated, tranquil materiality. Red clay wall sconces accentuate the dark wood finishes, subtly delineating distinct functional zones. A large crystal chandelier suspended along one side of the lobby, together with the central artistic staircase, forms a striking visual centerpiece. Drawing on its robust engineering expertise and custom‑design prowess, OLL ensured seamless integration between lighting and materials, bringing the elegant aesthetic of this modern garden to life.

The guest rooms are the heart of the guest experience. OLL meticulously selected and installed tailored luminaires for each of Sheriya Hotel’s more than 30 room types, creating comfortable, layered living spaces that harmonize with the rhythm of daily life. Architectural fixtures such as spotlights, wall washers, and silicone LED strips not only form the backbone of the overall lighting scheme but also highlight the delicate textures of wood finishes, bronze, and stone. Bedside wall lamps, table lamps, and mini‑bar pendant lights feature custom‑designed brushed‑metal bases paired with fabric lampshades, their textured surfaces carefully arranged to deliver soft, warm light that echoes the room’s design inspiration—“hidden among emerald bamboo.”

In the hotel’s public areas, OLL chose a diverse array of high‑quality luminaires suited to each space’s unique geometry and functional needs: the all‑day dining restaurant features balanced, linear metal pendant fixtures that echo the space’s symmetrical layout; the Chinese restaurant showcases handcrafted glass pendants finished in an “etched‑color” technique, which minimizes glare while imparting a warm, understated hue, fostering an intimate, cozy dining atmosphere; and in the 630‑square‑meter column‑free banquet hall, dozens of nine‑panel crystal chandeliers are elegantly arranged, lending the expansive space a grand, dignified presence. Meanwhile, remote‑controlled spotlights in the stage area support programmable settings and motorized zoom, meeting the demands of meetings, weddings, press events, and other occasions.
